After dabbling in almost every artistic medium she could, Tracy started taking photographs during college. It wasn’t long until all other art forms were forgotten. After learning the basics of PhotoShop in school, she created her first fairy photograph in 1999. PhotoShop is utilized in every image she creates, even for her traditional dark room techniques. She tries to avoid what she refers to as "over-utilization". Every element in the final piece began as a photograph, nothing is digitally created but instead it is merely manipulated to achieve the desired effect. Sometimes the end result will be unrecognizable from the original image, but it all begins as a photograph. In most cases she avoids heavy use of filters that can degrade the photos quality and give the computer program more control over the final image than she has.
